    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Survey/Geomatics Project Manager to join our Survey team in Orlando, FL. Survey/Geomatics Project Manager responsible for planning, execution and delivery of surveying and mapping projects and related deliverable products.   Will work within multidiscipline design teams on wide variety of civil, environmental, transportation and other A / E projects, including site development, infrastructure, landfills, stream restoration, soil and groundwater remediation.


    This PM must understand and have the ability to effectively plan and schedule, project lifecycle events and processes for surveying/geomatics, procurement, execution, scheduling, delivery and project management project tasks. Must be able to prepare and/or lead a team in preparing schedules, drawings and reports.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Responsible for effectively managing/coordinating multiple, concurrent tasks and/or projects of moderate size and complexity, while maintaining high quality deliverables; Involves resources allocation/scheduling and effective time management
    • Routine interaction with coworkers, project teams and coordination with remote offices
    • Develop project execution plans, lead project reviews, lead negotiations with the client on change orders and contractual issues while maintaining a solid client relationship and client satisfaction
    • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of projects including responding to urgent and emergency situations
    • Conduct routine team meetings to address schedules, assignments, and budgets
    • Establish and execute effective project delivery strategies covering estimating, procurement, project management and controls
    • Responsible for proposal management, scope definition, program and estimate development
    • Coordinating project related matters between internal and external stakeholders
    • Recognize and initiate business development opportunities
    • Enforce safety standards to maintain a safety culture where no accidents occur. Performs work in a safety conscious manner to self and to coworkers and subcontractors
    • Prepares reports documenting operations and maintenance performance
    • Exercises independent professional judgment not subject to close review
    • Maintains a high level of communications skill, with emphasis on the preparation of clear and concise written reports
    • Provides technical direction to and mentors staff
    • Represents Wood and interacts in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives
    • May travel to project sites, including sites remote from the office, as part of on-site team
    • Identify technical resource needs as it relates to survey in the local market and work with the survey service leader to engage the hiring process
    • Other duties as assigned

    Skills / Qualifications

    Required Qualifications


    • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor of Science degree preferred
    • 7-15 years of experience as a land surveyor, demonstrating increasing responsibilities
    • Licensed Professional Surveyor
    • Demonstrated professionalism
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Independent thinker with aptitude to exercise foresight as well as good business judgment to anticipate and solve problems with minimal oversight
    • Self-starter and motivated
    • Demonstrated personal accountability
    • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/GEOPAK, and GIS
    • Demonstrated exceptional client relations and customer service skills
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Ability to travel and perform field work (data collection, etc.)
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
    • Quality control oriented with attention to detail
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

    Additional Preferred Qualifications


    • Thorough knowledge and experience in business development
    • Experience in the gulf coast region, the southeast US region, or the Midwest US region
    • Experience in business development with commercial and municipal
    • Formal project management training

    Physical Job Demands


    • Must be able to work in a field environment and have the ability to travel as required
    • May require work at remote sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs, explosives and environmental contamination
    • Overtime and overnight stays may be required
    • May be subject to periods of extreme heat and cold and other environmental conditions such as wind as humidity
    • Will be required to follow all applicable health and safety procedures associated with work environment
