    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions’ Chantilly, VA office is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist with experience in consulting, managing, designing and implementing environmental investigation and remediation programs for a variety of clients in the Industrial, Government, Energy, and Transportation sectors.


    Position Summary and Responsibilities


    The position will involve all facets of environmental remediation including, but not limited to: hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, soil cut/fill volume calculations, remediation feasibility studies and cost estimates, remedial investigations, remedial design of treatment facilities, construction oversight, and operation and maintenance support. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to address complex environmental challenges executing the following roles/responsibilities:


    Key Responsibilities


    • Prepare engineering evaluations and feasibility studies, design solutions, and develop conceptual cost estimates
    • Prepare project planning and reporting documents including investigation work plans, sampling and analysis plans, remedial action plans, permitting submittals, and construction complete reports
    • Analyze and interpret environmental data and prepare related reports
    • Prepare and/or support development of environmental permit applications for site development projects and remediation work
    • Develop and review plans, specifications and special provisions for site design and remediation projects
    • Prepare requests for proposals and assist in subcontractor procurement
    • Develop or support proposal efforts for public and private clients
    • Oversee remedial action implementation and provide construction management support including review of contractor submittals
    • Perform oversight, mentorship and direct the efforts of staff- and project-level staff
    • Assist with developing new work to support the team
    • Lead preparation of technical reports and proposals
    • Successfully interact with other Principal and Senior-level employees in the office and firm-wide
    • Manage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved
    • Travel to project(s) as needed, for the execution of project goals

    Skills / Qualifications

    • B.S. in Engineering, or related technical field
    • Professional Engineering license in Virginia, Maryland, and/or Pennsylvania desirable
    • 10+ years related environmental remediation experience
    • Strong work ethic
    • Must be a self-starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with, mentor, and direct engineers and technicians
    • Ability to effectively manage projects and programs
    • Exhibit ability to successfully track and meet budgets and schedules
    • Candidate should have experience with CERCLA, RCRA, and VA, MD, PA, and/or NJ State Programs
    • Developing and managing complex engineering design and design-build projects
    • Oversee remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work
    • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy
