  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking a Field Survey Technician to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.


    Key Responsibilities


    The successful candidate will perform surveying services in the field as a part of a two or more person crew and will be responsible for:


    • Performing field work efforts for land surveying services of all types
    • Preparing field staking materials as necessary
    • Operating GPS and Robotic Total Station data collectors
    • Reading and understanding engineering and survey drawings, maps, exhibits and field layout documents
    • Maintaining field equipment in a clean and secure manner
    • Loading and unloading field survey equipment and supplies to and from the survey truck
    • Performing pre-start vehicle checks to ensure operability maintenance and safety
    • Will travel to project sites mostly in the Phoenix area.  Occasional travel out of state with approximately 10% overnight travel.

    Skills / Qualifications

    The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of Land Surveying experience, 2 of which must have been as a Survey Crew Chief or as a Survey Technician in the office. Experience in a supervisory role and a degree in Land Surveying or a related field is strongly desired. A combination of education and experience totaling 5 years may be accepted as qualifications for this position.

    • Good work ethic
    • Solid time management skills
    • Technical skill in the use of Trimble survey equipment including GPS and Robotic Total Stations
    • Thorough understanding and interpretation of construction design drawings
    • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites mostly in the Phoenix area. Occasional travel out of state with approximately 10% overnight travel.
    • Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
