  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is recruiting for a Cost Engineer to provide on-site support for approximately 9 months to our pharmaceutical client’s on-going capital improvements program. This position is located at the client’s manufacturing site in Covington, Georgia. The successful candidate will integrate with our on-site team and will be responsible for cost reporting and cost management of the various projects. 

     

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Provide cost control service to the projects with responsibility for accurate project cost reporting and analysis
    • Utilize project management systems to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts
    • Conduct project performance analysis using earned value techniques 
    • Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with estimates for tenders
    • Preparation of Client Cost Reports
    • Monitoring and compilation of project cost accruals
    • Assisting Project Managers & Project Engineers with producing estimate at completion
    • Raising purchase requisitions and receipting invoices
    • Monitoring and reconciling costs
    • Ad hoc cost reporting

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or other related discipline 
    • 10+ years project controls/cost engineering experience 
    • On-site experience on construction projects preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
    • Experience with financial or cost management software
    • Familiarity with standard construction scheduling techniques and software
    • Attention to detail and good numerical skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
