  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is seeking a Survey Project Manager to join our growing team in Tampa, Florida. We are expanding throughout the region due to a very strong backlog of work. Wood offers competitive salaries and great benefits.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Responsible for supervision and management of all survey activities related to conventional, GPS, and Laser Scanning surveys
    • Project Management on Survey projects
    • Survey employee Management
    • Aid in Marketing Survey, SUE and scanning
    • Work with the geomatics services manager to achieve department goals
    • Continued training of field crew personnel
    • Provide quality control and quality assurance on survey deliverables
    • Day to day management of survey crew personnel
    • Assist with CADD Mapping (AutoCAD, Microstation)
    • Preparation of cost and time estimates for survey proposals
    • Insure that quality control procedures are being implemented
    • Proper training and support for survey staff
    • Provide feedback on crew personnel performance
    • Monitor technical and quality control standards
    • Assist geomatics services manager in purchase of all supplies, and required equipment
    • Directing and coordinating the activities of Survey technicians
    • Participates in and supports development of long term goals and objectives
    • Monitor and improve upon production levels, and staff utilization
    • Coordinate training efforts
    • Generate new business leads using various marketing strategies
    • Strengthen existing client relationships
    • Assist in the development of new marketing material
    • Analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data towards goal attainment
    • Enforcing company policies with respect to safety, protocol, and procedure
    • Support for survey, SUE and utility coordination staff as needed

    Skills / Qualifications

    Required

     

    • Florida PSM
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Computer skills and technical competence
    • Commitment to work with other sections and divisions of Wood
    • 10 – 15 years of surveying experience
    • Ability to manage several jobs simultaneously
    • Ability to maintain good client relations
    • Ability to motivate employees
    • Valid driver’s license
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to travel
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

    Preferred

     

    • Prefer familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation
    • Prefer familiarity with subsurface utility engineering
    • Prefer Department of Transportation experience in FL, GA, NC, SC

    Physical Demands

     

    • Performing work in a variety of climate conditions including hot and cold weather climates
    • Requires the use of hand held equipment
    • Must be able to work in a field environment and have the ability to travel as required
