    Wood perform consulting and EPCM services for many of the world’s leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects on five continents.


    Terra Nova Technologies (TNT), a subsidiary of Wood, based near San Diego, designs, supplies, delivers and installs material handling systems for mining and mineral processing, coal, aggregate and cement clients throughout the world. Our experience includes delivery of mobile stacking system, crushing plant, and conveyor (stockpile, overland, in-pit, and in-plant) projects in 15 countries on 6 continents. We currently hold about 80% of the world market in the manufacture and installation of multiple-lift heap leach stacking systems.


    TNT currently have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Project Manager in our Santee, California office. Reporting to the Project Manager, this position has project management responsibilities for the delivery of the project in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance and quality, ensuring that the contractual obligations are met.     • Assists Project Manager to oversee the project team, scope, schedule, cost and quality for successful project execution
    • Applies all applicable TNT policies and procedures in the execution of the project
    • Manages the successful implementation of the health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) management plan
    • Executes and maintains the master schedule for the project
    • Executes and maintains the project management plan
    • Utilize engineering knowledge for project management; estimate timelines and schedules; anticipate risks and costs related to the technical aspects of the project
    • Assists Project Manager with the engineering portion of the project to obtain a well-defined scope and engineering deliverables
    • Plan and organize technical projects from conception to completion
    • Coordinate and communicate between various areas; supervise and train project staff as needed
    • Participates in constructability reviews and approves all technical decision memorandums
    • Participates in external audits as required by the client

    Skills / Qualifications

    • A BS or MS in Engineering, from an accredited college/university required; Additional business management, project management or engineering training is beneficial
    • 3-5 years of proven engineering experience in industrial construction projects preferred
    • Good understanding of project management, financial management and budgeting
    • Proven leadership and personnel management skills
    • Experience managing lump sum contracts
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • A willingness and ability to travel internationally to remote locations
