    Terra Nova Technologies Inc. performs EPCM services for many of the world’s leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects all around the world. Due to continued growth, Terra Nova Technologies Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative individual to fill the role of Electrical Construction and Commissioning Manager. 

     

    Reporting to the Site Construction Manager, the Electrical Construction and Commissioning Manager will be responsible for technical assistance to the site erection contractor through the installation phase through to the dry commissioning of all Terra Nova Technologies supplied power, conveyor and infrastructure facilities.  This role has direct responsibility for assistance to planning and scheduling, site health and safety, contractor management and coordination, field quality assurance, site management as well as logistics for the dry commissioning of the site and facilities.  The successful candidate will liaise with the construction management team, home office engineering support, site operations and contractors to successfully lead this stage of the project.  If you are looking for a challenging career, while working with experts in the industry, this is the opportunity for you

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • On-site technical assistance to the site erection contractor and construction team
    • Planning and scheduling of commissioning activities (scope includes dry commissioning only)
    • Contractor management and coordination for commissioning activities
    • Field quality assurance and turnover documentation for commissioning activities
    • Site management as well as logistics and material management for commissioning
    • Liaising with construction management and the home office engineering support
    • Ensuring Terra Nova Technologies contract documentation references necessary contractor requirements to support commissioning, including schedule and turnover requirements
    • Regular travel will be required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Heavy industrial electrical construction experience
    • Diploma or degree in engineering, construction management or a related discipline
    • Minimum 10 years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years focusing on construction
    • Commissioning or operations of industrial facilities, preferably mining related
    • Excellent knowledge of on-site construction management during commissioning
    • Advanced knowledge of document management systems
    • Proven leadership and management skills
    • An entrepreneurial approach and the ability to take on challenges in a changing environment
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and organizational skills
