  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for a Senior Project Manager, with experience delivering design-build and design-bid-build construction projects, to join our team in Guam. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical management of assigned projects, and is the primary person responsible for all project activity and successful project completion. The Project Manager will be able to share his or her passion for and dedication to getting the job done. Responsibilities will include leadership of large-scale ($75-100M+) general construction projects in challenging environments around the world.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Maintain a firm commitment to safety behaviors and protocols that lead to an incident and injury free project site
    • Develop a high-performance team through leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring
    • Train and develop direct reports through on the job, internal and external training opportunities
    • Provide operational support for the successful capture of new work
    • Support preconstruction services in the development of new projects
    • Provide on-site technical and administrative leadership for the execution of all aspects of project delivery, including financial management, contract administration, procurement, submittals, project controls, schedule, and change management
    • Ensure projects are delivered to meet safety, quality, financial and schedule objectives
    • Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity
    • Prepare and deliver project status reports, and keep management informed of project status
    • Utilize project management systems to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts; Manage budget and financial reporting, interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project financial objectives
    • Act and the primary, on-site representative with the customer; Foster and enhance owner, architect, subcontractor and vendor relations
    • Supervise project close-out

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Must be a US citizen
    • Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance
    • Must be assignable worldwide
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management. Relevant experience in lieu of required education may be considered
    • 15+ years experience in the successful delivery of fixed-price general building and civil construction projects for the U.S. Federal Government with significant architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems; Specific experience in aviation and multi-story structural concrete projects a plus;
    • Specific experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and/or Naval Facilities Engineering Command a plus
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of construction
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead personnel and subcontractors to successful project completion
    • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
    • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
    • Possess a thorough knowledge of the USACE EM-385
    • Demonstrated experience with Primavera P6, scheduling techniques and time impact studies
    • Possess and Value Engineering skills to solve problems, identify and eliminate unwanted costs, accelerate schedule, while improving function and quality of the work
    • Experience with integrated project management systems, including LEAN Construction, Supply Chain Management, and Building Information Management (BIM) and Construction with new and evolving technologies
    • Thorough understanding and demonstrated ability to manage Project Controls
    • Familiarity with federal contract regulations (FAR), change management and a demonstrated ability to keep proper documentation of changes to the project
    • Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with owners and subcontractors
    • PM certifications a plus (RA, PE, PMP, PRINCE2, APM, PMI, CAPM)
    • Must be able to perform/conduct project site inspections that include walking over rugged terrain, climbing ladders, conveyor/elevator transport, and be capable of wearing all required personnel protective equipment (PPE)
    • LEED accreditation a plus
