  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking an Entry Level Architectural Designer to join our Design Center in Portland, ME. This is a full-time entry-level position for an individual on the path to licensure with zero to two years’ experience.


    This position is located in Portland, Maine, one of the most livable cities in the US. Wood offers the technical challenges of projects located throughout the US within the relaxed environment of a small, vibrant city. This individual will; possess the ability to work as an integral part of a project team, interface with both internal and external project team members, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams. Our ideal candidate will be dynamic, creative, quality driven, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and be a proactive learner and problem solver.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Assist in executing architectural projects, including drawings, studies, and construction administration
    • Collaborate with project managers, project architects, engineers, designers, and other project team members to carry out project requirements
    • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation and production drawings
    • Demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative environment with integrated architectural and engineering design teams
    • Ability and willingness to travel - Occasional field work to perform building survey assessments on regional, national, and/or global projects - Approximately 10% travel

    Skills / Qualifications

    Candidates should possess the following qualifications for this position:

    • Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture degree from an accredited college
    • Demonstrated excellence in design, organization, and communication
    • Goal to achieve Architectural registration
    • Proficient in current digital modeling applications including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
    • LEED AP desired
    • Must be a US citizen
