  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Environmental Branch Manager with a minimum of 10 years’ experience to effectively develop project work and manage, implement and oversee sites assessment, remediation and other related environmental projects in support of site assessment and commercial clientele. This exciting opportunity offers a growth position in a team-oriented environment for an individual with an established track record as a Seller/Doer. Candidate should have a successful track record executing and managing environmental projects in this state. Local projects include environmental assessments and studies, environmental remediation, and environmental services. Candidates should be self-motivated, have experience with managing a team, and able to work on projects with variable complexity. Directs day-to-day activities of a group of exempt or mostly exempt employees; supervises engineers, scientists, and other technical personnel. The candidate should possess a balanced portfolio of skills including a strong technical understanding of their primary area of practice and experience in other aspects of environmental consulting, including business development and business management interests and experience, and demonstrated relationship-building abilities.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned unit; recommends measures to improve performance and increase efficiency; manages staff utilization
    • Initiates personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
    • Interprets, implements, and enforces company policies
    • Responsible for monitoring quality of the unit’s service delivery and implementing corrective measures
    • Prepares and submits various management reports
    • Trains assigned staff
    • May manage projects or elements of projects
    • Significant internal and external client interaction; makes recommendations and resolves issues
    • Recognizes, initiates, and advances business development opportunities
    • Development and implementation of group business plans

    Skills / Qualifications

    • B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field
    • 10 + years of experience
    • Appropriate professional registration or certification
    • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, management, and administration
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop business from new and existing clients
    • Thorough understanding of the company’s resources, capabilities, business practices, and financial model
    • If the job requires work on hazardous waste sites, then a physical exam is required to obtain medical clearance
    • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
