Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Process & Energy is seeking a Procurement Coordinator for the Albany, GA P&G Site.


Key Responsibilities


  • Establishes project specific project procurement coordination processes & procedures
  • Assists the Project Procurement Manager in the development of the purchasing, expediting, and trafficking strategy for all equipment and materials from requisition to receipt at final destination
  • Supervises assigned procurement personnel. Establishes and maintains well-defined areas of responsibility
  • Monitors and coordinates purchasing activities and takes appropriate action to assure that the inquiry cycle, purchase approvals, and commitments are in compliance with procedures and project schedules
  • Participates in evaluating suppliers and assists in compiling project supplier lists
  • Assists Project Procurement Manager, Project Manager, and project controls in basis planning and development of the project schedule
  • Keeps Project Procurement Manager informed of all critical areas where schedules are in jeopardy and recommends corrective actions
  • Monitors or processes all requisitions on assigned projects. Ensures completeness and proper logging into applicable reports
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining and proactive follow-up on all project procurement reports
  • Reviews all source expediting reports and inspection / quality control reports for clarity, completeness and required actions
  • Maintains highest ethical and professional standards as established by the organization
  • Ensures that all departmental guidelines are followed
  • Distributes, tracks and analyses new vendor prequalification paperwork

Responsibilities under Special Circumstances


  • Develops & maintains various project procurement reports required for the specific project
  • Participates in supplier meetings as required in support of procurement objective
  • Assists the Project Procurement Manager, Project Manager and Project Controls in coordination of procurement matters pertaining to definitive estimates, as required, after contract award
  • In the absence of the project Buyer, takes over those duties and responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree involving Business Administration, or related field preferred; otherwise equivalent job experience
  • 7+ years progressively responsible experience in procurement activities in technical and engineered equipment environment
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; meets commitments
  • Participates in meetings; writes clearly and informatively
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; completes work in timely manner
  • Works with integrity and ethically; follows policies and procedures
  • Designs work flows and procedures
  • Develops project plans; coordinates projects accordingly
