Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a CAD Designer to join our Portland, ME office. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in structural design services. The ideal candidate will be familiar with applicable industry computer design programs including AutoCAD, Revit and MicroStation. An Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical degree is required.


Key Responsibilities

The individual will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, and designers on building design projects with an emphasis on engineering design and plan production. Projects include building design for restoration, renovations and new construction.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or equivalent technical degree
  • 6 years of related design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit and working knowledge of MicroStation
  • Proven experience in plan production and design for building design projects
  • Ability to be flexible in daily duties and level of responsibility encompassing redlining as well as leading plan production efforts
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated consistency and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must pass drug screen, physical, background check and must have satisfactory driving record in accordance with Company’s driving (MVR) policy
