  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is seeking an Electrician, Maintenance to join our project team in Columbus, GA.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Works under close supervision of Lead Electrician - Work is checked frequently for accuracy
    • Performs a variety of electrical trade functions including installation, maintenance, and/or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy below 1,000 volts
    • Installs or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment including transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
    • Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment
    • Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments
    • Exercises generators with and without a load bank
    • Collects generator fuel, coolant, and oil samples for analysis

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of a recognized apprentice training program of at least four years' duration in the electrical trade
    • Two years of full-time, paid journey-level experience in the electrical trade
    • Class I or II Georgia electrical contractors license
    • Must provide documentation of authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
    • Must pass drug test and background investigation
