Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidate will be exposed to a range of projects related to energy, transportation, industrial/commercial, and government sectors. The successful candidate should be flexible in assignments, willing to travel, and eager to learn.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform field explorations and data collection
  • Construction monitoring/inspection of shallow and deep foundations
  • Under the guidance of an engineer, perform engineering calculations/analyses for shallow and deep foundations, settlement, soil and rock slope stability, retaining walls, ground improvement, etc.
  • Learn to use relevant software
  • Prepare field reports, internal correspondence, and sections of formal reports
  • Follows company and client safety standards

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited College / University
  • E.I.T. license or ability to attain within 6 months
  • Must have strong oral / written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (required) and AutoCAD (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and traverse over rugged terrain
  • Pass drug test and background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
