Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the continued growth of the established Environment & Infrastructure Solutions (E&IS) practice in our St. Louis, Missouri office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and catalyze the development of the E&IS business in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and surrounding States
  • Successful candidate will possess the ability to evaluate and pursue a variety of clients and projects in E&IS’s core market sectors (Industrial/Pharma, Energy, Water, Transportation, Government, Oil & Gas and Mining)
  • Work with existing senior staff to develop and implement a business plan to successfully capture and execute work from various clients in the Missouri, IL and Iowa region
  • Interface with the broad and existing E&IS operations to market and execute work in the region, and collaborate on new business pursuits
  • Work with existing seasoned staff to develop a staffing plan, recruit, and hire high value talent to grow the surrounding market place

Other responsibilities

  • Organize and lead the day to day operations
  • Manage the business including P&L statement, budgeting, forecasting and monthly close operations
  • Client development and marketing including presentations to clients
  • Mentor and train staff. Conduct staff performance reviews and create development plans
  • Serve as a Sr. Project or Project manager from time to time and execute project work
  • Integrate with the Wood E&IS Sector Programs to develop market penetration plans and client pursuits
  • Work with other Wood offices, Regions and Business Units on joint pursuits where applicable
  • Follow established business protocols including Limits of Authority, Contracts Plan, Code of Business Conduct and other applicable policies and procedures
  • Serve as senior risk manager for work flowing out of and through the St Louis Operation
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, and making recommendations to project managers

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS in Engineering or Science with professional certifications (PE, PG) is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of consulting and engineering experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of working experience in the St. Louis Metropolitan marketplace with growth strategy and client development responsibilities; Background in environmental services, civil design and construction services in the marketplace is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial management including management of complete profit and loss statements
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to create and motivate staff is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to Corporate Governance
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace
  • Travel to coordinate with other offices and meet client/project requirements
