Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Senior Warehouse & Logistics Specialist. This position will require coordinating multiple deliveries from Suppliers and Subcontractors to meet our site constraints on deliveries. The Logistics Coordinator needs to have a good knowledge of construction materials and associated trucking as well as the general work flow of an ongoing project. The position requires daily communication with site management, subcontractor supervision, supplier dispatchers, and supplier trucking personnel. The Field Logistics Coordinator will have to supervise personnel working in the site logistics department. The right candidate should be able to interpret schedules, create daily and weekly schedules and have good PC Skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manages Work Order close through Ship confirm activities to support Order Invoicing
  • Coordinate LTL and small package shipping documentation and carrier pick-ups per Business requirements
  • Provide "Proof of Delivery" documentation as required by Business areas
  • Facilitate customers’ special requests with Business areas
  • Calculate and communicate freight / shipping rates to appropriate Business areas
  • File freight claims with carriers, update appropriate reports, and coordinate returns and replacements as necessary
  • Create shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels, and export paper work
  • Enters system receipts in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Business functional areas to implement work flow, process improvements, and standard operating procedures
  • Prepare or submit paper or electronic replenishment requests as required
  • Prepare periodic or ad-hoc reports as necessary
  • Provide periodic backup support for other (Prod / Ops) Scheduling & Inventory Planning department personnel
  • Assist with physical inventories as required
  • Enters daily material replenishment WIP jobs as needed
  • Performs duties as assigned by supervisors

Skills / Qualifications

  • 10+ years equivalent practical experience in a related position
  • Experience in managing team
  • Previous experience working in industrial construction or related field, preferably in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of construction and engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
  • Understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units
  • MS Primavera training or experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to file and keep track of shipping documentation and lead the resolution of potential discrepancies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
  • Candidate must be willing to travel to job site locations for long term assignments
  • Applicant must be able to interpret general site layout drawings to be able to be able to stage deliveries to the proper jobsite location in coordination with Subcontractors
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
