Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Cost Control Manager at an EPC union project jobsite located in Trenton, New Jersey. It may be necessary to spend some time in our Tucker, Georgia and/or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices initially prior to being present on site.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing project cost in Penta database
  • Measuring and tracking progress based on Earned Value
  • Preparing bi-weekly project cost reports and forecasts
  • Participation in change order process with subcontractors, vendors, and the Owner
  • Providing input on monthly invoicing to Owner
  • Analyzing and recommending if and when project contingency draw-down is necessary
  • Ensure compliance with company cost control policies and procedures and good business practices
  • Perform additional assignments per project manager's and construction manager's direction

Skills / Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in construction management or engineering, or equivalent technical training and related experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years total equivalent experience with industrial construction projects
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
  • Knowledge of construction project practices and procedures
  • Strong leadership and management skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work with multinational and multi-disciplined personnel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Excellent knowledge of and commitment to safety requirements
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Understands business implications of decisions
  • Follows through on commitments; meets productivity standards
  • Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically
