Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood currently has two (2) Security Guard positions open at the Moab and Crescent Junction sites. One position is regular fulltime, 40 hours per week. The second position could be fulltime, however, we are open to an individual who prefers to work part-time. Part-time hours would be 24 to 39 hours per week depending on project need. Both positions offer benefits.

 

Role Overview

  • Security Guards needed at the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project
  • Will work at the Moab and/or Crescent Junction sites
  • May work morning, afternoon or evening shift - Shifts range from 5 to 10 hours a day for a total of 40 hours a week for fulltime and 24 to 39 hours a week for part-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for security of a remote federal site with a 7-day monitoring schedule - The first shift will screen all visitors at the gates of the radiological control area - Security’s other duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Completing a daily activity report or other reports
    • Enforcing regulations designed to prevent breaches of security
    • Exercising judgment and using discretion in dealing with the emergencies and security violations
  • Night shift will drive the perimeter of the site on a regular schedule to monitor conditions and potential security breaches - This includes frequent stops of a vehicle and getting out to open or close gates
  • The project provides a government vehicle for rounds at both the Moab and Crescent Junction sites
  • Will log on and off a computer; compose, send and access e-mails; record time in a PC-based timekeeping application; access secure Internet sites; and navigate to files in a Windows operating system (save and retrieve files)
  • Will accurately measure and record waterline conditions

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic computing skills including logging on and off a PC; composing, sending and accessing e-mails; accessing secure Internet sites; and navigating to files in a Windows operating system (saving and retrieving files)
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills
  • Must be able to accurately measure and record waterline conditions
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes
  • Ability to read and comply with project direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, pending demand
  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
