Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking a QC Inspector to monitor the ongoing structural & civil activities by implementing the Project Quality Controls Plans and Procedures in accordance with the Company QC procedures, standards and contract specifications.


Key Responsibilities

  • To coordinate with construction crew for ongoing civil/structural activities, including but not limited to excavation, backfilling, compaction, rebar inspection, formwork inspection, Field Density Test, concrete pouring, asphalting, etc.
  • To review the relevant documents prior to start of construction e.g. contract drawings, shop drawings, plans, project specification etc.
  • Must be able to do inspection of structural steel fabrication, erection till final inspection
  • Must have experience in cast in-place concrete structures
  • To be proactive with construction crew for advising to correct the activities this could lead to non conformance
  • Be vigilant for upcoming scheduled activities in advance to coordinate with 3rd parties in advance for the activities require testing e.g. FDT, Concreting, and Asphalting etc.
  • To coordinate with surveyor to elevations and placement of formworks prior to the start of activities

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complies with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents; take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
  • Complies with all statutory requirements connected with the implementation of project

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or construction management, architecture, or related field (will accept experience in lieu of formal education)
  • Proven work experience in QC Inspector Civil/Structural position
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of construction details, regulations and quality standards
  • Ability to plan and see the big picture
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Basic computer skills required: ability to work with Microsoft Windows suite to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and Nitro
  • Ability to read and understand scheduling methodology used by Primavera P6 schedule software
