Amec Foster Wheeler E&C Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Process Engineer in its Power and Process group to work in Tucker (Atlanta), GA. Will work in process industries sectors of Forest Industries, BioProcesses, and Chemicals. Responsibilities include: (i) technical development on designs, processes and engineering methods; (ii) formulating and directing investigations or prototype, model and system studies, analyzing and interpreting the data obtained and recommending practical application of results; (iii) advising on the development of engineering methods and participate in short and long-range planning; (iv) providing technical and project leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff; (v) solving problems requiring application of research data; and (vi) exercising experienced/mature business judgment in devising practical, economical solutions.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a related field plus 12 years of post-baccalaureate progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Must also have any experience with: (i) design, operation, and commissioning across a range of Forest Industry, Bioprocess, and Chemical manufacturing technologies; (ii) utilizing process simulation software, such as CADSIM Plus, WinGEMs, IDEAS and Aspen Suite; (iii) preparing, reviewing, and developing process engineering designs specific to Forest Industries, Bioprocess, and Chemical manufacturing technologies using mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment data sheets and functional descriptions; (iv) serving as a Process Lead; leading or managing process engineering teams or multidisciplinary engineering teams for delivery of project and/or business initiatives, mentoring (v) leading the development of Process Safety equipment designs, and safe management of chemical and process systems and equipment, such as HAZOP, CHAZOP/LOPA leader, hazardous/explosive areas/atmospheres, and personnel exposure to dangerous and hazardous chemicals; (vi) business development, including either identifying, bidding, negotiating, or offering engineering services for process engineering design(s), and client relationship management and liasion; (vii) experience on international projects and standards; (viii) advanced principles and techniques of process engineering as well as competing and alternative design techniques; (ix) working with the trends and economic conditions/factors affecting the technical field and business (e.g., costs, margins, profit impact of decisions made); (x) applying advanced laws, principles, theorems, and mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs; (xi) assisting in developing engineering work processes and procedures; (xii) assisting and making recommendations in product/ process design and work process improvements as well as executing and overseeing assigned project scope, budget and schedule by prioritizing work activities and managing Process project staff; (xiii), process improvement, managerial accounting, budget preparation and cost control responsibility; and (xiv) change management, progress management, interface management, and first level of technical assurance.
Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally to various unanticipated employer, client, and other locations up to 80%.
