Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Construction Inspector/Materials Technician to join our team in Naples, FL.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control activities related to the construction activities
  • Monitor materials testing results and record keeping for various entities
  • Prepare daily inspection observation reports
  • Evaluate and document the conformance of the construction work with respect to the contract documents
  • Monitor equipment, labor and material quantities of the contract work
  • Work closely with other Construction Project Management team members, Owner’s representatives, Agency Inspectors, Contractors, and other testing and inspection entities
  • The successful candidate will be expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection or recent college graduate in relevant engineering field
  • Good analytical skills and ability to work independently of supervision
  • Ability to perform simple field testing as instructed
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and advance into career position
  • Ability respond to short notice requests with minimal guidance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in variable outside conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with operation of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Having relevant industry certifications (e.g. ACI Field Testing Technician Level I, Nuclear Gauge Operation, etc.) is a plus
  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
