Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler has an opportunity available for a Contracts Manager in Grayling, MI. The Contracts Manager is responsible for all aspects of contract administration for assigned contracts from RFP through close out.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Write scopes of work and assemble RFP packages to be issued by the contracting manager
  • Answer questions during the bid period and participate in pre and post bid review meetings
  • Complete commercial bid reviews and bid tabulations
  • Expedite contractors’ submittals and submittal reviews
  • Review incoming submittals for general compliance before transmitting to engineering
  • Review submittal comments and identify potential cost events or schedule impacts
  • Review incoming RFIs and route to appropriate parties for response
  • Review submittal responses and identify potential cost events or schedule impacts
  • Review and distribute design bulletins and identify potential cost events or schedule impacts
  • Open cost events when potential cost impacts are identified
  • Issue contractor RFQs for cost event pricing and expedite contractors’ responses
  • Evaluate and negotiate contractor pricing with support from other team member
  • Recommend change order request disposition and route to the project manager for review and sign off before transmitting to Arauco
  • Issue change orders to contractors and expedite their signatures
  • Review incoming invoices and route through the project team for verification of compliance with all contractual requirements
  • Collect turnover packages and spare parts, and schedule operator training for assigned contracts
  • Expedite final invoices and lien waivers for contract close out

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; engineering or construction management degree preferred
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of MEP and Process Equipment systems interface
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Fully knowledgeable with Civil, Structural and Architectural building elements
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing and capable to work in a collaborative team environment with many different personalities
  • Flexible with daily duties, assignments and tasks
