Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking an On-call Roofing Construction Administrator (RCA) to travel to various client sites to observe roofing construction activities for conformance with the contract documents, and prepare field observation reports for the client. The RCA will liaison with the client and coordinate Pre-bid and Preconstruction meetings. The RCA will also be the point of contact for the roofing contractor and shall meet the various project administrative needs including, but not limited to, scheduling, scope and submittal reviews. Being able to evaluate and solve unforeseen field conditions is an essential part of the role.

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Perform roof inspections to verify conformance with the contract documents
  • Prepare field reports
  • General Project coordination – scheduling, meetings, correspondences, handling of unforeseen field conditions and limited estimating
  • Perform contractor submittal reviews for conformance with contract documents
  • Coordinate and attend Pre-bid and preconstruction meetings
  • Be willing to learn to do warranty inspections for foam roofs
  • Work efficiently to meet project milestones
  • Must work well with team members, have a positive customer service attitude, and possess excellent verbal communication skills
  • Perform related duties as may be necessary to support the needs of the business
  • Perform standard administrative tasks, such as completing timesheets and expense reports as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 10 years experience in construction inspection or roofing industry is required
  • Knowledge of various roof systems such as built-up roofs (BUR and Mod-Bit), single ply membranes (EPDM, PVC, TPO) and typical roofing details for each
  • Willingness to seek a RRO or RRC certification
  • A commitment to Health, Safety & Environment through compliance with all policies and procedures and completion of all required training
  • Good drafting skills and field note taking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Technical ability to look at a drawing and decipher discipline based content
  • Skilled to perform various duties with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Willing to travel out of town 2 to 4 nights during some weeks - Typically will be out one week in field and be in the office the next week writing reports for sites visited - Travel for week is typically Monday thru Friday
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
