Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has an opportunity for a Mid-Level Environmental Biologist or Scientist to fill an on-call position with our natural resource team located in our Portland, OR office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of consulting experience and be comfortable preparing technical analyses of documents compliant with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); performing wetland and habitat surveys; completing Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404 / Rivers and Harbors Act Section 10 permitting; preparing Biological Assessments;’ preparing and adhering to scopes, schedules, and budgets under the supervision of a project manager; and communicating with team members. This position will work closely to support the environmental planning and permitting team in Portland while collaborating on projects and with technical staff throughout the West.
Primary responsibilities will include preparing analyses of environmental issues in the context of NEPA compliance and CWA Section 404 and 401 compliance. The position will also include some assistance with proposal preparation. Opportunities for advancement are open for highly motivated and capable candidates.
