Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems. This position requires practical skill and knowledge in such trades as HVAC, plumbing, general mechanical maintenance procedures, basic refrigeration, and basic electricity.


Key Responsibilities

Work involves a maintenance procedures of the following equipment: plumbing fixtures, air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, fan coil units, cabinet unit heaters, and general mechanical maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Skills / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Maintain valid state driver’s license
  • At least 3 years technical training and/or job related experience
  • Must have the ability to:
    • Work 12 hours shifts including; nights (7pm-7:30am), holidays, and weekends
    • Work overtime as required
    • Climb/work from roofs, ladders and scaffolds
    • Obtain/maintain proper security clearances as condition of employment
    • Operate boom, scissor, and fork lifts
    • Lift 50 lbs. as needed
    • Walk great distances to perform duties (>1 mi frequently)
    • Work independently or with minimum supervision
    • Work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to changing priorities
    • Work outside during adverse weather conditions and extreme cold/heat
    • Work in confined spaces and on roofs
    • Work in a team environment in conjunction with other technicians and crafts
